Confusion Rocks NDC As Kwame Dzokoto Is Elected NDC Propaganda Secretary

The election of renowned comedian, actor and entertainer Seth Kwame Dzokoto, of Edziban fame, as the Deputy Propaganda Secretary of the Tarkwa Nsuem constituency of the National Democratic Congress is said to have sparked off confusion in the party. Some aggrieved party members are alleging that even though Mr Dzokoto was not qualified to contest the position, officials of the party over looked the relevant provisions of the partys constitution, and allowed him to contest, because they had been purportedly influenced through monetary inducement. The peeved NDC members in Tarkwa Nsuem constituency insist that Kwame Dzokoto was not qualified to contest in the elections, arguing that even though the comedian-cum-actor was born at Tarkwa, he had relocated to Accra for the past 20 years and had not been visiting the area frequently; neither had he contributed to the growth of the NDC in the constituency. Mr Dzokoto manoeuvred to get the position through the use of cash, just as he influenced officials of the party through the same means to overlook our constitution, and I can tell you that this has infuriated members of the party in the constituency and they are calling on the partys regional executives to annul the election or face their anger, a source in the NDC at Tarkwa told out reporter. Our information indicates that the aggrieved party members are planning to stage a protest in the constituency to vent out their anger and to demand that the right thing is done by the party officials. At the Tarkwa Nsuem NDC constituency conference held last weekend, Seth Kwame Dzokoto polled the highest votes of the day, 447, to secure the position of the Deputy Propaganda Secretary Position.
