Confirmed! Rosenborg Never Wanted Anthony Annan

Rosenborg sporting director, Erik Hoftun has confirmed that his side was never interested in signing Ghanaian midfielder, Anthony Annan. Annan, 28, joined compatriot Gideon Baah at Finnish champions HJK Helsinki on the transfer deadline day on Monday. There were several reports linking the former Hearts of Oak man to the Lerkendal Stadion side after he was released by German side Schalke 04 in the Summer. But the former Norwegian champions have debunked such reports."I cannot comment on players who have gotten to other clubs," Erik Hoftun said. "We have a very good central midfielder in Ole Selns. We are very pleased so we don't need him (Anthony Annan).""We never contacted Anthony Annan in the Summer," he noted. Annan scored one goal in 57 matches for Rosenborg between 2008 and 2011.
