Strategic Thinkers Needed To Lead Ashanti NDC

A former Ashanti Regional chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Frank Osei Mensah, has called for the rebranding of the party in Ashanti region, to make it attractive to voters in the region. The NDC, he said, should be given a new face and called on delegates to vote for persons who are committed to the growth of the party in the region. He said the party needed people who were business conscious and strategic thinkers and ready to make sacrifices for the rank and file of the party instead of those who took delight in amassing wealth at the expense of the members at the grassroots. Mr. Mensah said the new leadership must be able to build the capacity of the membership and not only grab wealth in all directions without restraint. The time when empty handed individuals without knowledge and finances assumed leadership of the party is gone. We need people who can sacrifice for the well-being of the membership at the grassroots to consolidate the gains of the party, he said. Mr. Mensah said the sacrifices of persons like Samuel Sarpong, PaapaDadson, Mr. Sarhene and Kwame Afreh to consolidate the gains of the party in the region should not be in vain. The former chairman of the party stressed the need for the leadership of the party to educate the members to choose the right type of people to lead them. According to him, leaders should work to improve upon the livelihood of the members by engaging them in serious commercial activities to contribute to the growth of the party.
