No Candidate Must Stand Down, Says Bawku Central Chairman

The constituency chairman for the Bawku Central constituency has admonished all presidential aspirants of the New Patriotic Party to remain in the contest ahead of the October 18 presidential primary of the party, pleading that no candidate must step down. After the August 31 Special Electoral College, it has been said by assigns of some presidential aspirants that the 740 delegates who pruned down the number of NPP presidential aspirants from 7 to 5 are not representative of the choice of the NPP grassroots. In view of this, Mr. Yussif Musah noted that it is imperative that the 140,000 delegates, who make up the Electoral College of the party, be made to decide, once and for all, who the real choice of the grassroots of the party is. The Bawku Central Chairman was confident that the winner of the October 18 presidential primary will be Nana Akufo-Addo and his margin of victory would be unassailable, just as was witnessed in the August 31 contest. Mr. Yussif Musah made these comments when Nana Akufo-Addo came to the Upper East Region to thank delegates for the 97.37% endorsement he received from them at the Special Electoral College. Meanwhile, at the meeting, all 38 delegates who voted in the Special Electoral College pledged their unflinching support for him ahead of the October 18 primary. Chairman of the Builsa North Constituency, Mr. David Afoko, in his address to Nana Akufo-Addo and his fellow constituency chairmen, pledged a 100% victory for Nana Akufo-Addo from his constituency in October 18. No constituency in the region can beat the 100% I will give Nana in October, he remarked, much to the delight of the delegates. Madam Mercy Alima Musah, the Chairman for Bolgatanga Central assured the gathering that the zeros the candidates received from this region in August were small zeros. The bigger zeros will come on October 18, I promise them. The regional treasurer, Mr. Edmund Bombande, on behalf of the regional executives, assured Nana Akufo-Addo of their unflinching support, stating that we are strongly standing behind you like a pillar and will take you through.
