Asante Bediatuo Explains His Style

Ace Lawyer, Nana Asante Bediatuo, by all standards and definition, is a man of style and class. He is a genius of a lawyer; an admired fashion plate who has, for the first time, explained his unique fashion taste. In terms of personal style, its just something you develop. I dont like to do what everybody does. I think its always important to be different; so I have tried over the years to develop my own style. The most important thing for me has been being comfortable. I try to get away from the trendy stuff. I think its important to be consistent and different. Its not about looking better than somebody; its about trying to look good for yourself. If you get dressed and you look yourself in the mirror and say to yourself, oh theyre going to love this, then you have the wrong attitude. But if you say, oh I like thisto yourselfthen youre happy; because you can move in it, Nana Bediatuo told the Men Issue of GLITZ Africa magazine. He added: For me, good dressing is always about feeling good. I know people who have only two jackets but when you see them, you go like wow, this guy has got style. Style is not about trends; its about individualism, its about self expression. Its not just about the clothes; its about what the folks call swag. Its what the Jewish people call chutzpah, the confidence. Its important that you dont wear your confidence on your sleeve though. It should be effortless. When you wear clothes, it should feel like your second skin. When asked to mention a few people who dress well in his opinion, Nana Bediatuo mentioned his learned friend Kwame Akufo, ace broadcast journalist Kwesi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) The Finest, Kofi Otchere Darko (KOD), Kobby Kumi, Nana Osei Kwame and Nana Safo. Asked to give tips on fashion style, Nana Bediatuo said people should be classy. Dont wear ill-fitting things just because they are in trend. Focus on the things that suit your body. Make sure you have the right attitude towards people. How you interact with people is what will express your style, he added. The eight-page personality profile interview also touched on his academic background, law career, his parents and children. For me, I consider my kids as my only real possession; as my only true legacy. Its very important for them to feel your presence, so they dont get influenced by others, and can have certain perspective about life that you would like them to have and which they are also comfortable with. The idea is to teach them tolerance, balance and as much as possible, give them the opportunity to come to me with questions, he explained. Nana Bediatuo said his youngest daughter, Nhyira, is in Deerfield Academy in the United States and would be graduating in 2016 while his younger son, Oyikwan, is at Stuffield Academy in Connecticut and would also graduate in 2016. He also disclosed that his oldest daughter, Bempomaa, is about entering her final year at the University of Pittsburgh, adding that his eldest son, Nana Twum, lives in London.
