Leave Afoko Alone

New Patriotic Party (NPP) Youth for Afoko (YOFA) has jumped into the defence of the National Chairman of the party, Mr. Paul Afoko, cautioning his detractors to leave him alone since he has what it takes to brighten the future of NPP. According to the group, their periodic assessments and evaluations of the performance of Mr. Afoko after the Tamale National Congress elected him as chairman showed that Mr. Afoko would deliver on his campaign promise. We strongly believe that, these agitations are being spawned by the unseen hands that wanted to tarnish Mr. Paul Afokos image with a frivolous petition prior to the Tamale Congress, YOFA said. The warning was stated in a press statement issued and signed by the spokesperson for YOFA, Mr. Yaw Asiamah, in Accra yesterday. The statement relayed that it was quite odd therefore to observe that some patriots have failed to regard and elaborate the unholy vow that some people have made to make Afokos administration unattractive. It continued that it was public knowledge that ever since Mr. Afoko became the national chairman of the blue, white and red party, almost all his decisions have faced stiff opposition. It asked that where were those people asking him to deliver on his promise when some gangsters invaded the partys headquarters with machetes and other weapons when the national chairman and the general secretary were having a press conference? Why didnt they condemn those acts of barbarism? Could it be that it favoured them? The group in the statement stressed that if these detractors give Chairman Afoko room to operate within his powers as the national chairman of the NPP, he will surely deliver on his promise. According to the statement, Mr. Afoko, just like the former President of the United States of America (USA,) George Washington, would never abandon the constitution of the NPP. It emphasised: We are yet to see Chairman Afoko, supporting one presidential aspirant or the other. Instead of backbiting one another, the group called on members and supporters of the NPP to translate their efforts into a clear political vision that supports a road map to political power in 2016. The statement advised detractors of Mr. Afoko to beware of false information as it is more dangerous than ignorance.
