CAF Asks Ghana To Consider Hosting 2015 AFCON

Government through the Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced that, Ghana has been named as preferred choice to host the 2015 African Cup of Nations. Youth and Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga broke to news on social media that the football governing body saw Ghana as one country with a potential to quickly host the showpiece if the main host Morocco failed. Morocco requested CAF to postpone the tournament which was set for January next year, due to the world most deadly virus, Ebola, but CAF is yet to hear their plea. According to Mahama Ayariga, CAF has officially written to Ghana to be on a standby to host the tournament. He further noted that, government will consider the offer and will make the requisite plans to make the tournament [if hosted in Ghana] a successful one. �The Confederation of African Football has officially asked Ghana to consider hosting the 2015 African Cup of Nations if Morocco drops its bid to host the tournament. The Government of Ghana is considering this call,� he posted on facebook. However, there have been mix reactions to the news on social media as some Ghanaians have advised government to reject the offer due the Ebola epidemic. Below is a screenshot of the public reactions
