No Room For Factions Anymore Afoko Tells NPP Supporters

The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Paul Afoko has urged party members to prepare for power in 2016. Speaking after the declaration and introduction of Nana Akufo Addo as the partys leader for Election 2016 at the Efua Sutherland Park Saturday night, Mr Afoko urged party faithfuls to bury their differences and embrace each other as they prepare for the task ahead. The process of preparing for power internally is here, we have reached the point and today I can confidently say we have a candidate, we have a president in the waiting. Now for us to get into the Jubilee House, the work starts from now. if this morning you were not embracing your brother because you were both supporting other people, let me tell you that this party, there is no room for factions anymore, the factions are dead. We only have one faction and that faction is called NPP. For all you here, who were with us in Tamale, you remember what I told you, I said go home and prepare for power. I told you that. The process of preparing for power internally is here, we have reached the point and today I can confidently say we have a candidate, we have a president in the waiting. Now for us to get into the Jubilee House, the work starts from now, if this morning you were not embracing your brother because you were both supporting other people, let me tell you that this party, there is no room for factions anymore, the factions are dead. We only have one faction and that faction is called NPP. I will keep this very brief, we will have more opportunities to talk to each other. I thank you all for demonstrating to all of Ghana that we believe in the democratic principles and that we have conducted the largest presidential primary in this country, fairly and free of any violence. But you see, I cannot resume my seat without also repeating that the first vote of thanks has to go to the partys elections committee, headed by our father Alhaji Bin Salih, ably supported by some of them who are all here around me. I cannot also end without thanking the police, the Electoral Commission and the national officers of this party and above all you, you the ones who cast your vote in this overwhelming show of support and unity. I thank you all and I ask you once more, Im repeating that message, its going to be a hard journey for us but please go back home, embrace your brother, embrace your sister and lets prepare for power.
