Alan K. Wont Quit Politics Aide

The office of defeated flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alan Kyerematen has rejected calls from political analysts for him to call it quits in politics. Mr. Kyerematen, who had previously been unsuccessful on two occasions to become the presidential candidate of the NPP, was thoroughly beaten for the third consecutive time by Nana Akufo Addo on Saturday. Two-time presidential candidate, Akufo Addo, received massive endorsement from the delegates at the partys National Delegates Congress, after polling over 94 percent of the votes. Alan Kyermaten came second with four percent with Francis Addai Nimoh in third place after polling just under 1 percent of votes. The 2007 primaries was Mr. Kyerematens best results till date, after he polled 32 percent of the total votes, but 19 percent of votes as against Nana Addos 78 percent in 2010, meant he lost out to him [Nana Addo] for the second time in a row. The defeats in the last three NPP primaries have intensified calls for Mr. Kyerematen to quit politics but, according to his press secretary, Chief Obosu ,those calls are premature. I disagree with [the calls for Mr. Kyeremateng to quit politics]. I think that as a politician you take the high or the low, whatever happens, you take it as it is. Politics is something that you never say quit. It just depends on how you want to practice it, whether you want to be on the front line or you want to take the back seat. But its not something that you want to quit, he argued. Chief Obosu, however stated that Mr. Kyerematen would reflect on everything that has happened and seek directions as to what is expected of him going forward.
