Stop Insulting President And Other Political LeadersOdiifo

Odiifo Dadibo Acquah, Head of Wady Haris Twelve Apostles Church of Ghana, has reiterated the call on Ghanaians to desist from using platforms on radio and TV stations, to insult and malign the President and other political leaders over current difficulties in the country. He said the Holy Scripture says that it is incumbent on us as citizens to pray for the leaders rather than ridicule them. Odiifo Acquah made the call when he addressed a week-long Convention of the Church at Mensakrom in the Agona East District of the Central Region. He said it was disheartening and disturbing for people to take advantage of the freedom of speech, to abuse personalities, just because they had offered themselves to serve the nation. The Head of the Church pointed out that the practice of democracy gave freedom of speech and expression, but that did not mean people should go on air to attack personalities. According to Odiifo Acquah, it was better for Christians and Muslims to pray fervently to God to grant more wisdom and understanding for leaders who have decided to render services to the citizenry. He said the nation was going through many challenges in the areas of energy, economic, corruption, sanitation and other social issues, adding that this needed spiritual and physical interventions to overcome them. Odiifo Acquah cautioned politicians, especially those in government, to desist from engaging in corruption, pointing out that it undermined the integrity and development of the country. He advised parents to invest heavily in their childrens education, saying that education was the only answer to poverty reduction. Prophet Kwame Baffoe, in charge of the Dansoman branch of the Church, urged pastors to stop greediness and other fraudulent acts that tarnish the image of the gospel. He said these days most families and marriages have broken down, due to falsehood prophecies given by some pastors, and cautioned them to stop such acts. Prophet Baffoe who is former a Police Inspector, warned people to be wary of false prophets and prophetesses, whose aim was to get rich quick in the name of God.
