Thousands of people including Ghanaian musicians, stakeholders in the showbiz industry as well as people from all walks of life last Saturday, November 1 joined the family of the late P.K Yamoah to mourn the death of their beloved son.
The mortal remains of late veteran highlife musician, who died a couple of weeks ago after a short illness, was laid to rest Saturday at his hometown, Agona Nyarkrom.
Various tributes read at the burial services stated that the late P.K Yamoah was a man who showed drive, imagination and positive thinking in all his endeavours.
Before the burial, the body was laid in state at his residence at Agona Nyakrom on Saturday, November 1, for viewing, after which a pre-burial service was held for him at the Nyarkrom Presbyterian Church.
Several personalities from the creative arts industry paid tributes to the musician, whom many described as a calm and friendly person.
The burial and funeral ceremonies of the late highlife musician attracted a large number of musicians from across the 10 regions of Ghana and other stakeholders in the music industry who gathered at Akyem Maase to bid farewell to late highlife star.
A number of musicians, including Gyedu Blay-Ambolley, Amandzeba Nat Brew, Safohene Gyene, Yaw Labito, Obour, Kofi Sammy, George William Dickson, Rex Omar, Nana Kwame Ampadu, Bessa Simons, Della Hayes and a host of others were spotted at the funeral.
The musicians who attended the funeral ceremony turned the event into a lively affair as they mounted the stage one after the other to perform.
Those who paid tribute to their departed colleague said P.K Yamoah showed a great deal of interest in promoting highlife music in Ghana.
