The Chief Executive Officer of L�Aine Services Limited, Dr Mrs Ellen M. Hagan, has urged the youth to venture into private enterprises instead of relying on other individuals or companies to employ them. She said the opportunity in the world of work was virtually non-existent, and it was, therefore, very important that the youth consider entrepreneurship as a means of creating jobs, not only for themselves, but also offer job opportunities to others. Speaking at the celebration of the 20th anniversary of her organisation, Dr Hagan encouraged the youth to identify their purpose in life early enough to make a difference in the world. She said her company had taken it as a responsibility to mentor the youth for them to understand that university education was just a springboard. Dr Hagan said it was by hard work and perseverance that her company had attained the recognition as a pioneering human resource development firm. She said her company was focusing more on the girl-children to prepare them with the requisite leadership skills to take up their rightful positions in the society to make a difference in the world. Dr Hagan said as an organisation, there was the need to set a target and the way forward was to be the leading human resource company in the country and beyond. Commendations The Chairman of UT Group, Mr Kofi Amoabeng, who was the guest of honour, charged L�Aine to help solve the unemployment problems in the country. He commended L�Aine for believing in UT Bank when it first began operations and for investing in the company. The Founder of the Salt and Light Ministry, Rev. Joyce Aryee, who chaired the function, congratulated L�Aine Services Limited on helping to develop the nation by providing quality service to their clients. She said L�Aine was a business that was not only relevant but also necessary because when people understood where to go and applied their thoughts, then they would have a great nation. The President of the Institute of Human Resource (HR) Management Practitioners, Mr John Wilson, said L�Aine had strategically positioned itself to partner with businesses to provide quality human resource services. He said he was confident that L�Aine would continue to make a difference in the world of work and improve on HR practices in Ghana. ISO certified To climax the anniversary celebration, the Lead Auditor and Trainer for Quality /Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems for International Register of Certificated Auditors, UK (IRCA- UK), Mrs Gauri Bhagwat, presented L�Aine with an International Standardisation Organisation (ISO) 9001 certificate. L�Aine Services Limited is a human resource development organisation which offers a variety of services including job placement, training, career counselling, organisational development, grooming, pay-rolling and a host of others. With local and international reputation, the company has won 28 awards within the past two years including the Strategic Leadership Award from the World of Human Resource Development (HRD) Conference.
