Ex-Ghana Defender Joe Addo Rubbishes Sammy Kuffuor's Call For Nyantakyi To Quit GFA Post

Ex-Ghana defender Joe Addo has rubbished Sammy Kuffuors call for Kwesi Nyantakyi to step down as the Ghana FA boss insisting his former team-mate cannot decide the fate of the Ghana Football Association president. Addo, who played in the Black Stars along with Kuffuor, says the former Bayern Munich defender must allow the voters to make their choice over who must lead the GFA in future. The in-coming Hearts of Oak Corporate Affairs and Marketing Manager has been forced to respond as some are keen on taking advantage of Ghanas poor showing at the World Cup to remove the leader of Ghana football. Kuffuor even suggested that government should forcibly remove Nyantakyi and suffer a two-year FIFA ban which seems to have infuriated the former Stuttgart defender. However, Addo who is respected for being one of the highly educated players in the country, says Kuffuor must allow voters to make their decision and not outsiders. Kuffour made his opinions clear and that is him, but lets all get this thing clear that Kuffour alone cannot take Kwesi Nyantakyi out of office, its the delegates that will vote during the elections, the former Hearts of Oak defender said. If the delegates think that Kwesi Nyantakyi is not good enough, they will vote him out, if not, he will stay on as president of the Association. A well-oiled media campaign calculated to damage Nyantakyi is well underway with Ghanas poor showing at the World Cup as its trump card brushing aside the successes chalked by Ghana under his leadership.
