Information that came out around that time was that a court ordered Rex Omar to pay an amount of money to his brother in law after a failed business issue but because Rex was not able to pay the amount of money involved, his belongings were to be picked as surety until payment of the debt.
This act of packing out his belonging was reported in the media with many accusing Rex Omar for defrauding his own brother in law even without facts and basis to merit their judgment. On Monday�s edition of Showbiz Xtra hosted by Dr. Cann of Happy FM, a female panel member known publicly as Silky Sweet was the brave one who was able to ask Rex Omar what really transpired between him and his brother in law and for the first time, the Abiba hit maker Rex Omar spoke about the issue publicly.
He revealed that it was a business venture his brother in law and his partners wanted to do with him but that failed because things did not go as planned. He recounted issued where lands he acquired from Winneba could not even be paid because there was no money to do those jobs and the fact that he advised the business partners to change their minds on their proposed business plan since he knew that would not work. One statement which came as a shock was when he said he is retiring from recording commercial songs but rather he is now about to treat music as a hobby. His position on this transformation is hinged on the fact that music in Ghana is no more lucrative as compared to the other countries. Now the question is, if he Rex Omar will retire because music is not lucrative now, then what business does he have going to lead these musicians? May be he would have to answer this question too soon?
