Mahama Wont Be Changed In 2014 Asiedu Nketia

General Secretary of the ruling NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia has stated categorically that only persons who want to collapse the party would seek President Mahamas replacement going into the 2016 elections. He further denied claims that he is leading some executive members of the party to plot the replacement of John Mahama. Any such attempt would be suicidal for the party, Mr Asiedu Nketia said. I am saying that those who want to plan to present a candidate to contest an incumbent president, either they dont understand the meaning of what they are doing or they simply want to bring the party down, he underscored. Asiedu Nketia, popularly known as General Mosquito, also denied claims by some aspirants that the presidency is backing his or others' candidacies. The party would be electing other national executives on December 20, 2014. If anybody says that some candidates are being supported by the Flagstaff House [Seat of Government], I am saying that that cannot be true, unless the person spreading the rumour does not feel confident that he can win the election and so he wants to use another vehicle. Mr Nketia was emphatic that the presidency has indicated that neither the president nor his vice has interest in the outcome of the election. He advised delegates that if any candidates try to induce them financially, they should not reject it, stressing sarcastically, If it is money take it and blow it. He asked delegates to vote for people who have a proven record of loyalty to the party.
