Ghana Can Win 2015 AFCON With Good Preparations - Abubakar Damba

Ex Ghana goalkeeper Abubakar Damba believes the Black Stars can make a strong impact at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations provided the team prepares well for the tournament. Ghana is drawn in the toughest group at next years finals alongside Algeria, Senegal and South Africa. The Black Stars are often amongst 6he favourites to win the title for the past three editions but have failed to live up to this billing. Next years edition is however very different as the Ghana FA only expect the team to do well under new coach Avram Grant. But Damba believes the team can surprise many if they have good preparations for the competition that kicks off on January 17 in Equatorial Guinea. What I am looking at is preparation and more so the helm of affairs has been taken over by a new manager who will usher in a new regime, Damba told Citi FM. He needs time to prepare and build a team so preparation will be important. Ghana have made at least the last four at the tournament since 2008. Their closest to winning the title came in 2010 when a late strike by Egyptian striker Mohammed Nagy denied the Black Stars in the grand finale.
