Stephen Appiah Insists He's Not Retired But Rules Out Playing For Hearts of Oak

Ex-Ghana Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has ruled out a return to football after claiming he has to concentrate on other stuff. Appiah has not been in action the past two years but yet to announce his retirement from the sport. There were reports he would be play for his former club Hearts of Oak but the former Juventus and Fenerbahce is disinterested. Appiah cites insults from fans on senior players have been a huge disincentive. Playing in the local league before hanging up your boots is not a bad idea, Appiah said on Joy FM. But the insults and abusive words are not encouraging. We watch the foreign leagues but they do not watch us because with all due respect we lack quality players in the league. Those days we use to go and watch Joe Debrah, Peter Ofori-Quaye and others. I think I have a lot to concentrate on.
