Weevil Infested Emerald Rice Hits Town

Officials of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), the agency tasked to ensure food and drugs safety, says it has step up actions to halt the importation of sub- standards food and beverage products as part of the celebration of the Christmas festivities. Mr Odame Darkwa, the Head of the Complaints Department of FDA, is urging the general public to be on the lookout for such inferior products during the festive period. He urged the public to report the existence of these sub- standard products to the Authority for prompt actions to save lives. Mr Odame Darkwas advice came to the fore, when The Herald stumbled upon information that a bag of twenty-five kilos of Emerald branded rice, is selling on the market with other foreign materials in it.
