AFCON 2015 Over: Avram Grant Changes His Lucky Blue T-Shirt

His lucky blue T-shirt which many believe did a lot of magic at the just ended Africa Cup of Nation became a subject trending on various social media network.

Calm but very tactical Ghana’s Avram Grant after losing his opener of the tournament to Senegal adopted his now famous blue striped polo T-shirt.

Admitting as his “lucky” shirt which he claimed the whole of Ghana wanted him to don anytime Black Stars is playing helped him to progress to the final of the tournament to face Ivory Coast.

Ghana's hope of clinching a fifth Africa Cup of Nations title with the Israeli Manager at the touchline was sunk when the Elephants of Ivory Coast edged the Black Stars 9-8 on penalties after the final ended 0-0 following extra time.

Although his famous blue striped polo T-shirt couldn’t save him at the Bata stadium, Grant has been lauded by the Vice President of Ghana, Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur saying “He [Grant] was given the team barely six weeks to the start of the tournament [AFCON 2015] and told to do well but I must say he has done extremely well”.

Despite the acclamations, Avram Grant has admitted that he feels painful to have missed the trophy on penalty.

However, as to whether the Israeli will return to Ghana with his blue striped famous T-shirt was dashed.

The entire Black Stars team together with officials from the Ghana Football Association [GFA] arrived at the Kotoka International Airport on Monday with Grant in a black polo T-shirt.

Traditionally, Avram Grant truly demonstrated how unhappy he is although his captain, Asamoah Gyan believes the team is capable of winning the next AFCON.
