Jonathan Mensah Impressed With Team�s Performance Despite AFCON Defeat

The former U-20 World Cup winner has hailed the impressive performance the Black stars displayed during the final game of the 2015 AFCON tournament in Equatorial Guinea. The 24-year-old Ghanaian centre- half anchor was full of praises to his team mates after their final match against the Elephants of la Cote d'Ivoire on Sunday and says the team did their best to annexed the trophy, but luck eluded them. Jonathan has been very impressive since the inception of the 2015 AFCON showpiece and has featured in all the six matches helping the Black stars to reach the finals. The Evian Thonon guardsman was left with frustrations after suffering a painful final defeat in the hands of their counterparts Ivory Coast, a defeat which was hard to accept but has expressed hope for success in the next AFCON edition. "We applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand.It wasn't our day.I'm proud of the way the boys played in the tournament�.
