Where's The AFCON Budget, Mr. Minister? - Kwesi Pratt

Editor-in-Chief of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt has called on the Sports Ministry and the Football Association to disclose the budget for the just-ended African Nations Cup (AFCON).

The Nations Cup which was held at Equatorial Guinea saw the national team, Black Stars concede to their West African neighbours, the Ivory Coast, who won the trophy during the finals which took place on Sunday, February 8, 2015.

Prior to the AFCON, there were several calls on the Sports Minister Mahama Ayariga to make public the budget for the tournament but to no avail.

Outspoken Sports Analyst, Patrick Osei Agyemang (aka Countryman Songo) has been "firing" the Sports Minister for refusing to tell Ghanaians how much was budgeted for the tournament.

Adding his voice to the numerous calls, Mr. Pratt called for a transparent account to be rendered to Ghanaians regarding the AFCON budget.

According to him, though the Black Stars' performance at the AFCON was commendable, it doesn't trivialize the need for the Ministry to let the public know the truth regarding the AFCON budget.
