GHAMRO Gets New Executives

The Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO),� has elected new executives to steer its affairs for the next two years.

������� The elections, which were held across the country on Wednesday, saw Kojo Antwi, who went unopposed, emerging as Chairman, while Nana Tuffour was elected Vice Chairman in the Composer category, with� Banda Ahmed becoming� Vice Chairman in the Producer category.

���������� Six other Board Members elected in the Composer category included Diana Hopeson, Zapp Mallet, Tic Tac, Mary Ghansah, Bessa Simons Henry,� and Augustina Addison, while those elected in the Producer category were Big Ben, Teacher Redeemer, Easy Way and Reverend Francis Boahene.

��� � � � � � Mr Yaw Oxbon, a co-opted Member on the Board of GHAMRO, who supervised the elections for members of GHAMRO in the Northern Sector in Tamale, told the Ghana News Agency that the new executives would work to protect the interest of music rights owners in the country.

�������������� Mr Oxbon, who is also the General-Secretary of Ghana Phonographic Industry, commended members of GHAMRO in the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions, who voted in Tamale,� for the mature manner they went about the elections, which recorded no untoward incidents.

������������� A Receiver � Managers Report,� read prior to the elections, challenged the new executives to work to retrieve all GHAMRO funds that were unaccounted for. �
