Abandoned Kath Maternity Block To Be Completed By 2016
The Minister for health, Dr. Kwaku Agyemang Mensah has disclosed that the abandoned maternity block at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital will soon be completed.
The block which has a pediatrics unit and a maternity block has been abandoned for the past 35years.
Speaking to newsmen during a tour of the facility, the Minister explained that they have received two proposals out of which one has been approved by the finance ministry and that "I am yet to send the approved proposal to cabinet.All the loan agreement and everything involved will be sent to parliament for the final approval.This is a project very dear to the president's heart so we are hoping to complete it by early 2016.
Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, Mr.Joseph Akpalu has also however denied media reports that the hospital has run out of oxygen.
