Kotoko Supporters Want Duncan As New Coach PRO

The Porcupine Warriors' supporting body has officially made known to the club's owner and board their desire to have the former Phobia boss as their coach. The National Circles Council (NCC) of Asante Kotoko has met the Chief of Staff of the Asante Kingdom, Kofi Badu to officially present to him their choice of coach who can replace Mas-ud Didi Dramani. The Communication Director of the club, Kwaku Ahenkorah confirmed that executives of the supporters group insisted on David Duncan as the new head coach contrary to reports they are against his appointment. It was a meeting involving the NCC executives and the Chief of Staff of Manhyia Palace. They made known their preference in terms of who becomes Kotokos next coach. They mentioned coach Duncan, Ahenkorah told the club's website. They would want him as Kotokos new coach, he added. Kotoko have had a torrid season after amassing eight points from eight matches and are only a point above relegation zone this term, but the supporters believe the ex-Hearts boss can turn things around. Goal Ghana understands Duncan will be presented with a two-year deal with an enticement fee of GHC 50,000 and will be paid a salary of GHC 7,500 every month. He is also expected to receive GHC 500 worth of airtime from sponsors MTN every month amongst others. Duncan had stints previously with AshantiGold, Free State Stars in South Africa and Accra Hearts of Oak. He was on the brink of winning the local league in 2010 only to lose the title to Aduana Stars on the final day of matches after a defeat against Berekum Chelsea.
