The 4th edition of the Global Multimedia Consult (GMC) Junior Olympics is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the El Wak Sports Stadium.

The event, which is one of the big platforms for young athletes in the basic school level, is one of the mainstream events by the organisers, GMC.

According to the organisers, they are dedicated to the promotion and development of sports and physical programmes in the basic and the senior high schools in the country.

GMC’s students’ Junior Olympic Games is to establish standards and uniformity in amateur sports in the basic and senior high schools.

Sports events to take place at the Olympics, aside the track and field events, are baton relay, basketball, volleyball and soccer and each school is to select two of the activities and only 16 schools will be selected to play the football.

This year’s event will be held under the theme ‘Supporting the development of sports in Basic Schools’ and will bring together students from the basic schools in both private and public schools within the Greater Accra Region.

The 4th Junior Olympic Games 2015 is sponsored by Indomie Instant Noodles, with support from Events Empire Ghana Limited.
