XCLUSIV FOTOS: KOD Recovers!...Prepares To Embark On Road Safety Campaign

Popular Radio Presenter Kofi Okyere Darko who was involved in a near fatal accident a few days ago, has disclosed that he wants to embark on a road safety campaign.

Speaking to Peacefmonline.com, KOD who is still recovering said “I want to start a road safety campaign against trucks that are abandoned in the middle of our road and claiming lives”.

KOD and his wife Ophelia, who went to the scene of the accident and later towed the wrecked car away, said he still has God to thank for his life as he advocates for best road practices. He said can’t stop thanking God for saving his life considering the extent of damage caused to his sedan.

Nineteen57 CEO shared a photo of the damaged vehicle on Instagram with the caption:

“This morning, I went to see for the first time this wreckage since I had the accident.

I didn't want to post it but thought we could all learn a thing or two from it: Always remember God's presence in your life and His power to deliver you from the worst of situations.

Be generous! Give unconditionally and always be there for other people. That includes praying for those who don't even know you, your enemies and those in distress.

Go easy on the roads because there are a lot of stupid/ mad/ reckless/ irresponsible drivers out there.

Never go without your seat belt, and make sure everyone is wearing one; that saved me too. Finally, reduce that speed, it makes it easier to maneuver or take quick decisions in case of the unexpected.

God bless us all. Enjoy your day. Don't Hate, Appreciate!”

He said he want to use his influence in the media and his horrific incident to campaign strongly against some acts of indiscipline on our road.

Asked how he is feeling now, he said “I still feel pains in my neck, my lower back and my arms with some bruises and am still limping but I have fairly recovered”. He was discharged from the hospital exactly a week today and is currently recuperating at home.

He expressed his gratitude to all Ghanaians and his fans all over the world for praying for him. KOD thanked family members and friends who were with him at the hospital including; The First Lady of Ghana Mrs. Lordina Mahama and some members of the first family, Mr. Baffoe Bonnie, Bolaray, John Dumelo and Joselyn Dumas.

He also thanked nurses and doctors of the 37 Military Hospital especially Dr. Commander Adjettey, Dr. Catharine Attoh, Dr. Harry Anaman, Major Adzigbli and Dr. Akua Amoah.
