Ghana FA To Investigate GHALCA Over a $9,000 Loan Scandal

The Ghana Football Association has decided to look into the recent wrangling in the Ghana League Clubs Association.

Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has launched an investigation into a $9,000 saga that is apparently tearing the leadership of the Ghana League Clubs Association (Ghalca) apart.

The GHALCA chairman Alhaji Raji and his treasurer George Amoako allegedly contracted a loan of $9,000 to defray part of a $30,000 debt owed to Nigerian club Enugu Rangers for participating in the 2014 President Cup.

Some Ghalca executives have been unhappy with the failure of the two men to account for the sum borrowed to settle the Nigerian team.

“We have agreed to step into the matter at Ghalca due to conflicting reports we are hearing,” Nyantakyi said.

Apart from contracting the loan without following the regular procedure and informing other members of the association, Rangers have also denied receiving any payments, which sparked off the ongoing row in the executive committee.

“Whether or not certain monies were paid to Enugu Rangers, the FA will undertake the investigation and report to Ghalca on our findings,” the Ghana FA chief said, promising to find a lasting solution to the crisis.
