Jay Z Signs Half Ghanaian Rapper, Vic Mensa

Chicago rapper Vic Mensa has inked a deal with Roc Nation Records.The rapper joins Roc Nation in a deal which was made official yesterday. An announcement was also released, which premiered on TIDAL. The footage shows the 21-year-old Savemoney co-founder meeting with Jay Z and signing his deal. Born Victor Kwesi Mensah to a Ghanaian father, Edwar Mensah and an American mother, Betsy Mensah in Chicago, Illinois Vic Mensa was a member of the group Kids These Days, which broke up in May 2013. Following their breakup he released his first major mixtape INNANETAPE. Vic Mensa is also founder of the hip-hop collective SAVE MONEY with frequent collaborator Chance The Rapper. His debut single �Down On My Luck� was released in June 2014 by Virgin EMI and it achieved international success. Vic Mensa joins a prestigious list of artists on Roc Nation including Jay Z, Kanye West, and Rihanna. �It feels astounding just to be in a family tree like that, from Jay Z to Kanye West to J. Cole,� said Vic. �I look up to all of them dudes. It gives me chills almost. Everything that I�ve done for so long is what�s [brought] me to this point. And this is only the beginning,� he commented.
