Radio In Kumasi Is Collapsing Franky Taylor

Kumasi based radio presenter, Franky Taylor says the radio business in Kumasi is falling, causing a lot of radio personalities to relocate to Accra due to numerous reasons.

Sounding remorseful, Franky poured out his heart on how workers in Kumasi are sometimes mistreated and are even not paid the right salaries by their superiors.

According to the Fox FM presenter in Kumasi, “All media gurus are moving to Accra because of bad salaries, no allowance and bad logistics in Kumasi”.

“The remaining Kumasi based radio presenters and hosts have lost their prominence. Radio businesses in Kumasi is collapsing because workers who were supporting the station to grow have left in distress. Some presenters do not even have cars and a comfortable life”, he added.

Radio listenership in Kumasi have reduced because a lot of people moved to Accra in search of better opportunities, Franky Taylor revealed.

He made this known in an interview with Peace FM’s Akwasi Aboagye on the ‘Peace Entertainment Review’ show while pointing out how he and other colleagues have received complaints from their listeners expressing disappointment in the recent happenings in Kumasi.

Taylor advised owners of radio stations that “modern logistics must be put in place and if workers are indeed relevant, there should be the provision of allowances and accommodation to make their lives contented”.

The Fox FM presenter also made mention of colleagues in Accra radio stations like Abeiku Satana have now gained popularity because they have massive listeners who phone-in and make shows interesting.

He, however, advised radio presenters to do their maximum best to respect and show gratitude to those they received training from.
