Elect Competent People - NAPO Tells Delegates

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, alias Napo, has underscored the need for the party’s delegates to choose competent and dedicated people to represent the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Parliament.

He said it is only when the party has competent representation in Parliament that they can make meaningful contribution in Parliament to advance the socio-economic development of the country.

The MP stated this when he submitted his nomination form to contest the party’s primaries.

He stated that former President Kufuor was able to chalk all the successes the party is proud of because he had competent people to work with; therefore the party delegates should chose competent people who will partner Nana Akufo-Addo to bring the country out of its economic doldrums.

Dr Opoku Prempeh stated that winning the Manhyia seat would be meaningless if he cannot work had to ensure victory for his flagbearer.

He emphasised that he is not just interested in becoming a MP, but he wants to galvanise support in his constituency to contribute his quota to ensure that the NPP clinches the much-needed victory in 2016.

Commenting on the state of economy, Dr Opoku Prempeh said “my heart bleeds when I look at the worsening economic condition of the ordinary Ghanaians, youth unemployment, massive corruption, and dumsor, among others.”

He said the NDC government is in reverse gear and all Ghanaians must come together to vote the incompetent government out.

He advised party members to remain united and eschew anything that will bring disunity among members. He said party unity is a necessary prerequisite for victory in 2016.
