Making Akufo-Addo President Is My Passion For Now - Kofi Jumah

Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the outspoken former Member of Parliament for the  Asokwa constituency, has assured delegates and party faithfuls that his number one occupation is to ensure that the party’s flag-bearer, Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo wins the upcoming presidential elections hands down.

According to him, to become the parliamentary candidate of the party or the eventual winner of the 2016 parliamentary elections in the Asokwa constituency is secondary to him for now.

Speaking to GO after filing his nomination forms at the party’s regional headquarters, the former Deputy Minister for Local Government said it will be meaningless to attain the accolade as the party’s candidate or Member of Parliament if the party’s flag-bearer fails to attain power to rule as President.’

He therefore noted his eternal desire to continue to work as a grass-root man and party member so as to ensure that the NPP garners enough votes to win majority parliamentary seats for a smooth administration.

‘I am confident in winning the Asokwa constituency primaries in June 13th but my heart desire is to ensure that whatever happens at this internal contest does not make me relaxed in my commitment to campaign with the party people because I intend to win every household to the fold of the New patriotic Party.’

The Asokwa constituency which is a stronghold of the opposition NPP, however, continues to record some worrying votes for the opposition NDC.

Mr. Jumah intimated his determination to win the Asokwa parliamentary primaries so as to gather more momentum to carry out an outreach project he has initiated.

The Former Kumasi Mayor explained the initiative is aimed at using some of the lettered youth in the constituency for field work in the hinterlands of Ashanti and Brong Ahafo regions.

This initiative, the two time MP mentioned is aimed at making the party popular as they tour village by village to project the party’s flag-bearer and the parliamentary candidate for the area.
