NPP Has No Father Figure Atik

Aspiring General Secretary of the Peoples National Convention (PNC) says if the New Patriotic Party (NPP) refuse to ‘grow up’ they will lose the 2016 elections.

According to Atik Mohammed, the party has now become a free for all party where everyone "misbehaves" and goes scot-free.

he added that the NPP lacks a "father figure" who will discipline members who go contrary to the rules and regulations of the party.

The Policy Analyst of PNC on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen Wednesday was reacting on the recent brouhaha that has erupted in the NPP.

First vice chairman of the party, Freddie Blay called a steering committee meeting but the National Chairman Paul Afoko and General Secretary Kwabena Agyapong where absent though they have denied knowledge of a National Steering Committee meeting called by the party.

But Atik Mohammed believed that the NPP instead of getting together and building the goal they need, they are rather sabotaging each other.

“There is no father figure in NPP. Even if a big person in the party speaks, they take him for granted. If you want a collective good, then I guess you must develop a stomach for it.

He continued that “until the NPP is able to reconcile their problems, they will continue to be in opposition or even vanish into thin air” he stated.

But in quick rebuttal, a member of the NPP, Nana Boakye said there is nothing wrong with the first vice calling a meeting.

He said the noise being made in the media is just a storm in the tea cup.

“There is nothing wrong with it. If anyone wants to criticize this issue, then that person wants our party dead”.
