The Ghana Boxing Federation (GBF), in conjunction with the Ghana Olympic Committee (GOC), is pleased to inform the boxing fraternity and the general public of the impending Elective Congress of the GBF at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Pitch on Monday, 11th May, 2015.
Congress will elect new officers to steer the affairs of the GBF for the next four years.
The positions to be contested include President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer, as well as two Executive Member positions.
Contrary to speculations in the media about the existence of two electoral registers, the GOC states emphatically that there will be only one electoral register at congress, made up of the 48-members on the list of delegates submitted to AIBA in December, 2015, in preparation for the subsequently postponed congress.
The GOC has been asked by AIBA to oversee this final effort at a congress, and takes this opportunity to thank the entire boxing fraternity, as well as the three member vetting committee appointed by the boxing stakeholders which was tasked to screen all prospective candidates, for their immense effort and cooperation over the last few months.
