New Venue For #Dumsormuststop Vigil Announced

Venue to serve as starting point for the highly publicised #dumsormuststop vigil has been changed.

Organisers the protest match were forced to change venue after authorities of the University of Ghana, initial venue for the vigil, rejected the use of the school�s campus for the protest against the power crisis.

Yvonne Nelson, Sarkodie, DKB and other celebrities, announced their intention to hold a vigil to put pressure on the government to find a solution to the severe power crisis referred to locally as �Dumsor�.

According to a �statement by organisers on Friday May 8, 2015 stated the new converging�point for the vigil will be �ON-THE-RUN� (also known as Bonjour).

�All participants shall converge at �ON-THE-RUN� (also known as Bonjour) on the Legon Presec Road, towards the old main gate of the University of Ghana,� the statement said.

�The DumsorMustStop Vigil is a non-partisan event which seeks to give an amplified voice to the many Ghanaians who are afflicted by the phenomenon of DUMSOR,� Organisers said.

The #Dumsormuststop vigil is set for May 16, 2015 and it starts at exactly 5pm from "ON THE RUN" to the park by villagio. Dress code is black and people can come with candles, torch lights and any form of light producing items.

Other celebrities who have pledged their support for the #Dumsormuststop vigil include; Sarkodie, Lydia Forson, D-Black, Confidence Haugen, Afia Schwarzenegger, rapper EL, Joselyn Dumas, Ama K Abebrese, Efya, Nikki Samonas, Deborah Vanessa, Eddie Watson, DKB, Kweku Elliot, Kwaw Kese, gospel musicians Gifty Osei, Great Ampong, Trigmatic among others.
