Mahama Goes To Volta Region Today

President John Dramani Mahama will on Monday, 18th May 2015, inaugurate the Eastern corridor fiber optic project at the Volta Regional capital, Ho.

The Minister of Communication, Dr Omane Boamah, will assist him in the inauguration which will take place at the forecourt of the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC).

The fiber Optic Broadband Infrastructure project which is over 800km cost 38 million Euros and was undertaken by Alcatel-Lucent of Denmark.

It covers 27 municipal and district assemblies and spans from Ho to Bawku in the Upper East Region and Tamale in the Northern Region.

The project is expected to bring the digital economy close to these areas and promote Information Communication Technology (ICT).
