Missing Pages: Chief of Staff Demands 'Written Explanation' From Prez Mahama's Aides

The Chief of Staff, Mr. Julius Debrah, immediately after the ECOWAS Summit ended, demanded from some of President Mahama’s aides a written explanation into how the last two pages of the President  speech were not part of the speech they placed before him to deliver at the Summit.

At the trail end of his speech yesterday as the out-going Chairman of ECOWAS, President Mahama found to his horror that the last two pages of his speech was not in the lot before him. He quickly, though admiringly, had to complete his speech extempore.

The chief of staff, it is learnt, was beside himself with anger at what happened and even though the President believes it was a glitch, has ordered the aides involved to submit a written explanation to him before the close of day today about what happened.

The aides are said to have been surprised at the turn of events because they had, as usual, acted meticulously to ensure that their boss, the President, delivers excellently as he usually does. Still reeling in shock, they have profusely apologized for what happened.

Speaking with the ‘Daily Post’ yesterday, president Mahama obviously has taken what happened in his strides, saying it was a glitch that was bound to happen but which he hopes had thought the aides a lesson.

The president ruled out sabotage saying the aides are the same persons who have worked hard in the background on previous occasions to enable him deliver without any glitches. He averred that being a human institution, some of these glitches, can occur as it did yesterday, adding that he hope his aides have learnt their lessons.

Despite the President’s charitable sentiment, the aides must still submit the written explanations to the Chief of Staff today.
