Paul Afoko And Kwabena Agyapong Must Resign, Or - NPP G/R Chairman Warns

The Greater Accra regional chairman of the New Patriotic Party [NPP], Ishmael Ashitey has stated categorically that regional chairmen of the party will be forced to impeach National Chairman, Paul Afoko and General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong if they failed to resign harmoniously.

“If we want to remove them we would amass signatures of 40 percent of people who actually voted for them to start the process of impeachment, what we are doing now is not actually impeachment.

“...We are only writing a petition to ask them to step aside to re-organize the party, it is when they refuse to step aside that we would activate the process of impeachment,” he said.

In an interview with Citi FM, Mr. Ashitey noted that, the party now, does not need Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong to be at the helm of affairs.

He however described the duo leadership and doings as amiss and “unaccepted” by the elephant fraternity.

“It would be good for all of us if they [Kwabena and Paul] to step aside” adding that, “the unity of the party is below them”.

NPP Regional Executives across the country have begun an impeachment process against the two party leaders they accuse of being divisive elements within the party.
