Ayarigas Attack On Nana Akufo-Addo Confirms Hes On NDC's Payroll - Nana Akomea

Director of Communications for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akomea believes the 2012 presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Hassan Ayariga is working for the ruling NDC government following his latest attack on Nana Akufo-Addo.

According to him, Hassan Ayariga’s constant attacks on his colleague opposition leader, Nana Akufo-Addo instead of attacking the ruling NDC government with the hope of forming the next government with PNC confirms the assertion of his own PNC people that he is in the pocket of the NDC.

The 2012 presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC), launched an unprovoked attack on the flagbearer of the 2016 New Patriotic Party (NPP), describing him as corrupt.

In what looks like a new wave of vitriolic onslaught, Ayariga went as far as dragging Nana Addo’s late father, onetime Ceremonial President of Ghana, Edward Akufo-Addo, into the attack.

In his attempt to catch votes from the potential delegates of the PNC, Ayariga first suggested that Akufo-Addo did not mean well with his promise to provide ‘free secondary education’ when elected President during the 2012 electioneering campaign.

Reacting to the allegation, Nana Akomea on Oman Fm’s "National Agenda" programme said Hassan should rather use every opportunity that comes his way to strongly debunk the allegations that he [Ayariga] has been given a job by the ruling administration.

You are an opposition leader like Nana Akufo-Addo and your party is in opposition like NPP and it is your responsible to criticize the ruling government on things it is not doing right, but if you as an opposition leader accepts that the government is working, then there is no need to be in opposition to stand in election against the ruling government,” he opined.

He however wondered why an opposition leader seeking to form the next government would turn around to rather attack his fellow opposition leader, leaving out the government in power.

This man is not telling Ghanaians why this NDC government is not good so they should vote for his party, PNC; he is rather campaigning against someone who is also in opposition and you find this very difficult to understand….his own people said he is in the pocket of NDC…his attitude shows every allegation levelled against him is true,” he wondered.

He schooled Hassan Ayariga that after Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s free education in all the three northern regions, no successive government canceled or reintroduced the educational policy.

He added that Nana Akufo-Addo’s father could not have made any executive changes or added any policy change to existing ones since he only served in a capacity as the Ceremonial President.

Touching on corruption, Nana Akomea said the year in question by Hassan Ayariga is wrong because the 2016 Presidential Candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo was not the Attorney General but rather was serving as the Foreign Affairs Minister.
