Avram Grant Is A Lazy Coach...Hes Too Lazy" - Coach Opele

Former Ghana youth trainer Isaac Boateng says the Israeli manager named a weak squad for the 2017 Afcon qualifiers. Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko coach Isaac Opeele Boateng believes Ghana coach Avram Grant is practicing an armchair method in managing the outfit after naming his 23-man squad ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritius. Grant named his final squad for the qualifiers on Tuesday, recalling 22 familiar faces and keeping faith in under-fire goalkeeper Fatau Dauda whose performance at the just-concluded Cosafa Cup in South Africa was widely criticised back home in Ghana. The former Chelsea coach handed Portugal-based Bernard Mensah his debut call up but Boateng was not impressed, insisting that the Israeli is too lazy and does not want to work hard. Grant is a lazy coach. Hes too lazy to the extent that he cant travel to monitor local games. Looking at the squad he presented for the qualifiers, my mother, who is not a coach, can give Ghana a better list than he did, Boateng told Asempa FM. This list he announced is useless because there are a lot of potholes in the squad. Many players dont deserve the call up especially with the goalkeeping department. He has decided to live in England instead of Ghana and has delegated powers to his assistant, Maxwell Konadu to monitor the local players, the 42-year-old added. Boateng has previously had stints with Ghana champions Asante Kotoko, Tema Youth and Okwahu United. He became the assistant coach of the Black Starlets in 2011. Ghana will lock horns with Mauritius in the opening games of the 2017 Afcon qualifiers at the Accra Sports Stadium on June 14.
