Veteran goalkeeper Richard Kingson says he is focused on helping Great Olympics attain greater heights this season and has got nothing to prove to anyone.
Richard Once again was the difference as Olympics secured a priceless point against New Edubiase over the weekend.
The former Blackpool goalie was at hand to save a late penalty and ensure that Olympics avoided a defeat in the opening game of the second half of the first capital plus premier league.
Kingson has conceded only twice in seven games but says he is not on a mission to prove anything to anybody.
“Good game and that is it. The entire team did very well and we continue to ensure that we pick up points game by game,” Kingson said after the game
“I love the game and I will continue to play till I feel I cannot play again and I continue to insist that I have nothing to prove to anyone.”
Meanwhile, GFA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara has revealed that emerging talents are being monitored to solve the goalkeeping crisis in the Black Stars.
Coach Avram Grant has been making efforts to have Adam Kwarasey return to the team.
But GFA spokesman Ibrahim Sannie Daara adds that other options including goalkeepers at the junior levels are being closely monitored for future call-ups.
“The coach is looking at other goalkeepers even from the junior national teams,” Daara revealed on GTV’s Sunday Night Live.
“There are so many things happening behind the scenes that you might not know of so I urge that we remain patient with the coach in his team building process.”
Ghana U23 and U20 goalkeepers Richard Ofori and Lawrence Ati-Zigi have been particularly impressive in recent times – leading to calls to have them invited into the Black Stars in subsequent national team assignments.
