Govt Warns GFA Over Muntari, KP Boateng

Government has advised the Ghana Football Association (GFA) against inviting 2014 World Cup troublesome duo- Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sulley Muntari into the Black Stars.

It was explicitly stated in government’s White Paper on the report of the Justice Senyo Dzamefe Commission of Inquiry which looked into Ghana’s disastrous campaign at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The statement read: “Government further advises that the two players should not be recalled into the Black Stars camp in order to maintain the discipline that appears to have been restored since Brazil 2014.”

Muntari attacked and punched a Ghana FA official at the tournament without any provocation during discussion over unpaid appearance fees for players and bonuses.

Boateng was sacked from camp after he openly abused then coach Kwesi Appiah in the full glare of his teammates in the build-up to the final group match against Portugal.

The two players have shown little remorse for their misconduct and have since not been called up.
