Ghana Football Association Ready For Government Probe - Sannie Darra

Ghana FA spokesperson Ibrahim Sanni Daara has hinted at the Associations readiness for any probe by the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI).

The Government in its white paper report released on Friday ordered that the FA President Kwesi Nyantekyi and the Association should be investigated over suspicion of venality allegation at the Football Association.

The Ghana FA has been criticized massively by football enthusiasts for mismanagement hence leading to thorough scrutiny by government.

Kwesi Nyantekyi together with his cohorts are expected to give vivid explanation and details of Ghana’s friendly games against Cape-Verde, Nigeria and Togo which claimed losses of an amount totaling $1,002,000.

The investigation will hence establish the claim by the GFA that an amount of $350,000 it received from the Japan friendly game was used to offset the deficit incurred in the Ghana – Cape Verde qualifying match.

Sannie Darra in an interview with Starr FM’s morning show host Kafiu Dey says the association is prepared for any probe by the government.

“If this indeed is government’s position, then it is clear that as we stand now, nobody has been accused of anything,” he said.

“If (Dzamefe report) is asking that further investigation be conducted by the BNI. We have not been accused of anything damning,” he added.

“From day one, we have said that we have nothing to hide. Some of these things that were stated in the report are things that auditors have done already.”

“The auditor general has audited us already and so we have nothing to hide,” he said.

The Justice Dzamefe led Commission made several recommendations to the government after 124 days of inquiring into the happenings of the Brazil debacle.
