Satellites Assured Of Bonus Payment

Black Satellites Committee Chairman, Wilfred Osei Parma has assured players of the national under 20 team to expect their winning bonuses by Tuesday, June 16, 2015.

Coach Sellas Tetteh’s boys exited from this year’s FIFA Under-20 tournament currently ongoing in New Zealand at the round 16 stage against fellow West African counterpart, Mali. The Satellites returned to Ghana on Friday June, 12 after their early elimination from the competition.

Despite qualifying from the group phase as leaders with 7 points in group B, the team failed to advance to the expected target of a semi final berth.

The team however boasts of defeating tournament favourites Argentina (who has produced world stars including Lionel Messi, Kun Aguero and Javier Masherano at this level and double as 6-time South American champions) in the group stages.

The Black Satellites are yet to receive their round 16 qualification bonus and Osei Parma promises the monies will be ready before Tuesday.

“It is very key: it is the financial commitment from management towards you(players).”

“We have already started the discussions in Auckland and we are going to continue”.

“There are strong indications from the ministry; everything is set for the investment; We are projecting that latest by Tuesday June 16, we should have the monies for you”, he stated.
