Mr. Ibu Exposes Our Local Stars

If information award winning movie director Frank Fiifi Gharbin is giving us is anything to go by, then our Kumawood stars should really sit up.

According to Mr. Gharbin, Mr. Ibu is happily shooting in Ghana with some of our top Kumawood movie stars but there is a point he becomes sad because of the feeling of loneliness. Thinking about what is causing Mr. Ibu to feel lonely right?

Have you thought about the language difference of Mr. Ibu and our local actors? Obviously Mr. Ibu cannot speak any of our local languages same as some of our local stars cannot also speak English so here comes Mr. Ibu also known as John Okafor’s wahala. It will interest readers to know that because Mr. Ibu cannot speak Twi and vice versa, communication is very limited at the location making it difficult for effective relationship with our stars.

In as much as most of them cannot speak English, there are degrees of the issue as Frank Gharbin told this paper in a telephone interview that Mr. Ibu says Agya Koo is better than  Kojo Nkansah Lilwyn.

What we at Flex newspaper are interested in and want to find out is what effects this language difference will bring to our movie industry. Does it mean our talented actors here are locked down here in Ghana forever because they cannot speak English? Hmm only time will tell.
