Drama Over Asamoah Gyans Girl

The lady, whose photo was published in Wednesday’s edition of New-One in Daily Guide with an accompanying story that she had threatened to make public a secretly recorded video of a sexual intercourse she supposedly had with Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan, has said the publication of her photo was a case of mistaken identity and threatened legal action.

The lady said she bares the same name with Sarah Kwabla, who is currently in a post-sex feud with Asamoah Gyan.

“The picture there is me, but I’m not the one who they are talking about. I don’t even know Asamoah Gyan. I’ve not met him before. I have nothing doing with him,” Sarah told Joy FM before she went on Hitz FM to repeat same.

Sarah Kwabla, a supposed 22-year-old university student, has threatened to unleash the secretly recorded sex video to the public.

Sarah said she secretly recorded the video when the Black Stars captain had sex with her at her apartment in February this year, but has decided to make it public because her relationship with the footballer is currently not going the way she had envisaged.

The 22-year-old university student is also claiming she got pregnant after the sexual intercourse and is therefore demanding that Asamoah Gyan gets her a furnished apartment, a housemaid and a monthly amount of $1,000 for antenatal care.

The case was reported first at the Odorkor Police Station in Accra but officials of the Domestic Violence and Victims Support Unit (DOVVSU) are reported to have taken over the matter.

Drama

Meanwhile, there was a dramatic twist to the developing story yesterday when two separate men, who both claimed to be boyfriends of Sarah Kwabla, the one who went on radio to deny the photos, each said they would vow she had nothing to do with Asamoah Gyan.

The first gentleman spoke on Peace FM News@12 and claimed he works at Akosombo Textiles in the design room and that Sarah had called him to complain that DAILY GUIDE had wrongly used her photos for the said publication.

Barely two hours later, another gentleman appeared on Hitz Fm in the company of Sarah Kwabla and told Andy Dosty he was her boyfriend; but he was not the one who spoke on Peace FM News@12.

Curiously, Sarah Kwabla did not contact or inform DAILY GUIDE about the supposed mistaken identity, though the paper had stated publicly it was trying to reach her to apologise and do a correction of the photos if the publication was indeed a case of mistaken identity.

She was said to have told a reporter of Adom Fm that she had been in touch with DAILY GUIDE and that the paper had agreed to retract the said picture and apologise. However, she never got in touch with the paper, raising suspicions about the whole episode.

The paper, however, contacted Andy Dosty for the contact of the Sarah Kwabla he interviewed and when the number was called, it was answered by a man who identified himself as a “concerned citizen, guardian and friend” of Sarah.

The man, whose name was given as Ato Davis, said Sarah was traumatised and could not speak to DAILY GUIDE over the mistaken identity issue, although she had spoken to other media houses.

According to Ato Davis, he and Sarah had forwarded their complaint to their lawyers and that all further correspondence on the matter should be done through their lawyers.

Interestingly, he refused to disclose the identity of the lawyers or tell how DAILY GUIDE could reach them.

The paper gathered that the lady had contracted the services of a lawyer who works with Joy Fm, the very first station she went to.

Lawyers Confirmation

On Wednesday morning, lawyers for both Asamoah Gyan and Sarah Kwabla confirmed to several media houses that the Daily Guide publication was authentic.

The lady is claiming she got pregnant after the intercourse and therefore demanded that Asamoah Gyan gets her a furnished apartment, a housemaid and a monthly amount of $1,000.
Both, however, differed on the secretly recorded video Sarah is threatening to make public.

Maurice Ampaw, speaking on behalf of Sarah Kwabla, said though he had not personally seen the sex video, he believes his client truly recorded the sexual intercourse. Ampaw argued that he had seen a text message conversation between Asamoah Gyan and his client in which the footballer was asking Sarah to “delete it”.

Ampaw disclosed that per the instructions from Sarah Kwabla, the secretly recorded video captured both Asamoah and the lady having sex, including anal sex, which he described as “sodomy.” Kissi Agyabeng, Asamoah Gyan’s lawyer, said his client had consensual sex with Sarah Kwabla and that they agreed to take full responsibility of the pregnancy and the mother if a paternity test proves the footballer is responsible for the pregnancy.

He said in the interim, they had reached an agreement to give her an amount of GH¢2000 every month pending the paternity test.
