EXPOSED: GFA Receives �450,000 From PUMA As Part Of Black Stars Kit Deal

Official kits sponsors of the Black Stars, PUMA, has fulfilled their part of the new contractual agreement with the Ghana Football Association which spans from January 1 2015 through to December 31, 2018 by making payment of the first tranche of €450,000 euros to the Ghana Football Association. The payment was done on June 30, 2015 as the contract between PUMA and the GFA stipulate.

The payment constitutes half of the “Annual Fixed Fee” of €900,000 to be paid to the GFA for four years. This is different from cash payments that will accrue from “ROYALTIES” which is 10% of the net wholesale sales price for the PUMA team Replica shirts and fan wear (apparel, footwear, accessories and bags).

Although the deal between the GFA and PUMA is shrouded in secrecy with the assumption that PUMA only gives the Black Stars kits, Ghanasportsonline.com can authoritatively reveal that the new deal will see PUMA pay the GFA almost €1million a year for four years. The relationship between the GFA and PUMA started in 2005.

A report by Sanni Daara, GFA spokesperson, then of the BBC indicated that the deal at the time (2005) had a cash prize of $12million and €300,000 qualification bonus for the World Cup 2006 and AFCON 2006 respectively.
