Egypt To Report FA Board Member Kofi Manu To CAF Over Bribery Allegation

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has rebuff allegations by Ghana FA member Kofi Manu claiming the North Africans attempted to bribe Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantekyi with a sum of $1million to fix the Black Stars FIFA World Cup qualifier second leg encounter with the Pharaohs.

Kofi Manu had earlier revealed that Nyantekyi refused to take the whopping sum of money which was aimed at allowing Egypt to beat Ghana 5-0 to qualify for the World Cup having suffered humiliation at the Babayara Sports Stadium after losing 6-1 at the hands of the Black Stars in the first leg.

The EFA led by Gamal Allam upon hearing the allegation have decided to file a complaint to Africa's Football governing body.

"The Egyptian FA, under the presidency of Gamal Allam, will file a complaint to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to punish a Ghanaian Football Association member called Kofi Manu and question him,” a statement read on the EFA website Thursday.

The Ghana FA Board member could be sanctioned by CAF should he fail to provide necessary explanation about the assertion.

Ghana beat Egypt 7-3 on aggregate to qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
