The Policy Analyst of the People's National Convention has warned investors not to plan their investments on the new cedi adjustments.

Speaking on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo", Atik Mohammed advised investors to examine the rationale for the appreciation in the cedi against major currencies.

To him, until the Ministry of Finance explains to the general public the reasons that have accounted for the cedi appreciation; investors "must be careful how you use this magical and hard-to-explain appreciation in doing your investment planning."

He further challenged the sustainability of the cedi against major currencies like the US Dollar as it progresses.

�People are not sure of the sustainability. That in itself is a worry. It�s a problem for the investment community that though it has gradually appreciated but we are not sure how sustainable is going to be. This cannot help in planning their investment�"
