C.K Akunnor Having Sleepless Nights

Head Coach of Division One club, Dreams FC, C.K Akunnor, has disclosed that he has been having sleepless nights, for the past five weeks due to the club’s closeness to sealing promotion to the Premier League next season.

The zone three league leaders are one of the high flying teams in this year’s Division One League despite being debutants in the competition.

The Kweiman based side has a nine-point advantage in their zone with just eight matches to complete the season.

They will seal an automatic Premier League spot if they are able to win at least four of their remaining games.

Speaking to Dreams FC’s official website, Head Coach, C.K. Akunnor revealed that despite having coached in Ghana’s top flight in the past, he still harbours ambitions of a return to the premier league.

“I have worked with two Premier League clubs in Ghana [Eleven Wise and Hearts of Oak].

…But I am desperate to make history with Dreams FC, because they have a lot of trust in me and our romance has been successful so far,” the former Hearts coach stated.

“The players are to take the credit for a good job done. But to tell you the truth, I have been having sleepless nights lately. It is becoming unbearable every other day,”’ Akunnor added.

The former Ghana international, however, acknowledged that the other teams in their zone are becoming aware of the threat his side poses and so he expects every game to be tough.

“Every League match looks very difficult because the other clubs have become very much aware of our quality,” the former Black Stars captain said.

“We were not respected by anyone. But that notwithstanding we are on course and we want to become the first club to qualify into the Premier League straight from Division Two in the revised format of the Division One League”, he concluded.

Dreams FC qualified from the Greater Accra second Division last year and have looked solid in the ongoing GN Bank division one campaign.
