Of Idiotic Reckless Comments And Blood-thirsty Minister

“Nothing good comes from Ashanti Region” – Solomon Nkansah, NDC Propaganda Secretary

“Violence Begets Violence” – Mark Woyongo, Minister of Interior

The people of Ashanti should stand up and fight back. The crown of martyrdom was won many years ago when the great King of Ashanti, Osei Tutu Opemsoo went to war and died in the Pra River.  It looks as if the NDC has an agenda against the people of the Ashanti Region, the stronghold of the opposition NPP.  Not long ago, Kobby Acheampong who hails from a remote area in Mampong in the Asahnti Region had the guts to say the former General Secretary of the NPP, Lawyer Owusu Afriyie should not ‘bring his Kumasi thing to Accra”. He went further to ask the General Secretary to “broaden his horizon because he was a Kookoase Kruaseni.” To Kobby Acheampong Accra is synonymous to Ghana and so if you are not located in Accra, you are a nonentity in the scheme of things.  When a villager like Kobby Acheampong finds himself in Accra and see tall buildings they think Accra is London.

Before the dust could settle, the president himself in the person of John Dramani Mahama went to Kumasi to meet NDC supporters and told them that “as for the people of Ashanti Region, even when you tar their streets with gold, they will never be grateful”.  This president is always carried away and becomes over-zealous anytime he finds himself among his party supporters who shower him with undeserved praises and so whenever he opens his mouth he spews out unprintable words.  Where I come from, when you tell a person that he or she is ungrateful, you have seriously insulted the person.  That is why our elders say an ungrateful person is like a chicken who scrubs it beak in the sand after eating the corn that you fed it with.

Today the people of Ashanti Region should come to the terms that the crown of martyrdom has become too heavy to bear. The general attitude of the Ashanti people in the face of the continuous disrespect and insults being heaped on the Golden Stool and its subjects must be resisted. Some legalistic purists may interpret this proposal or strategy as incitement to civil dis-obedience.  If indeed it is, so be it, after all nobody can say that all other peaceful avenues like press conferences and appeals to leave the Asantes alone have not been exhausted. That is why the Akans say if someone kicks you and you refuse to kick back the person may think you have shorter legs. I am calling on the people of Ashanti Region to retaliate, “Insult to insult” If an obtuse bully like Solomon Nkanash continues to insult the Asantes they should respond in the same manner since that seems to be the language the NDC people speak and understand. People like Solomon Nkansah have cheapened governance.  In John Mahama’s government, mediocrity is raised to the level of political virtue and integrity has been seen as a dangerous deviationist attitude.

Nothing good comes from the Ashanti Region? If we are to go by what this buffoon said then the First Lady, the wife of the president is not good enough.  Is Solomon Nkansah aware that Madam Lordina Mahama comes from Nkoranza and that the people of Nkoranza also come from Amakom in Kumasi.  You see what ignorance can do to people like Solomon Nkansah? Since this boy called Solomon Nkansah became the Propaganda Secretary nothing good has ever come from his mouth, apart from being uncouth, he spits fire and brimstone instead of adopting mild reasoning and refinement of language and decent presentation of conflicting opinion and analytical exposes. My cherish reader have you taken time to listen to Mr. James Agyenim Boateng and Felix Ofosu Kwakye these days? These young men have learnt their lessons so well that any time I hear them reviewing newspapers I doff off my hat for them. I used to take them to the cleaners when they decided to don their amour of confrontational discourse and acquired colors of pomposity, acerbic and caustic in taste. If they continue with their new-found decency, the sky will be their limit in Ghanaian politics.  Agyenim Boateng in particular fascinates me with his choice of words and presentation of issues bordering on the economy.  The guy has suddenly grown intellectually to my liking.  Not so with Solomon Nkansah who continues to expose his ignorance and acts like a village tyrant.

There is this septuagenarian who asked this question when Solomon Nkansah made his irresponsible statement:  Why do they hate Ashantes?”  I had this answer for him: “They hate the Ashantis because the Ashantis have made a mark as far as democracy is concerned.  They stand against the Ashantis because you are the only dynasty which has a Golden Stool which you religiously worship.  They stand against you because you are industrious and work beyond exhaustion to make money and live good lives.  They hate you because you have a culture that has been able to stand the test of time”

THE WOYONGO CRAZY THEORY!!!

When you admire a person and he messes around you bow down your head in shame and curse the day you met him.  Since the revolutionary days I have come to like Mr. Mark Woyongo because of his levelheadedness and the way he respects people, low or high in society.  Suddenly the Woyongo I used to like so much has blood in his head.  No wonder the sages say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. If a whole Interior Minister who is supposed to see to the security of Ghanaians, irrespective of one’s political leanings says ‘violence begets violence” then we need to haul him to the Pantang Psychiatric Hospital for a check-up

So it has come to the level where the Azorka Boys need to be registered in Ghana to cause more mayhem.  Good Lord, what has entered the mind of this Woyongo man? I do not blame him because he participated in a revolution that saw the death of hundreds of Ghanaians with many more missing while he still walks tall in this country because of the indemnity clause.  If it were to be in other jurisdictions, Woyongo would have resigned or booted out of office.  From all indications, President Mahama supports what Woyongo said but sadly he has forgotten that when the rain falls, it won’t fall on one man’s house.

Woyongo is telling the NPP by implication that they should arm themselves for the battle royal in 2016.  At Talensi, we saw Woyongo’s vision for Ghana.  Assuming the NPP starts training young men how to handle guns because Woyongo as the Interior Minister cannot be trusted, what do you think will happen in 2016?  The NPP will have no excuse whatsoever if they sit down for the likes of Azorka Boys to intimidate their supporters in 2016.  As for the Supreme Court, nobody will spare his or her time to go there because Atuguba is still alive.  If you have an Interior Minister like Woyongo and expect any election to be free and fair then you are day dreaming because the NDC people will not relinquish power on a silver platter.   They are keen on winning election than managing the economy.  John Mahama and his cohorts are very much aware that when they leave office, skeletons in their cupboards will be exposed so they will do everything to maintain power.

From what happened at Chereponi, Atiwa, Akwatia and Talensi, the NPP should not sit down expecting the security forces to protect them come 2016.  Already, the National Commission on Small Arms and Light Weapons is accusing politicians for the proliferation and usage of firearms in the country.  The leadership of the NPP should distance itself from this madness and define their terms, not be defined by the violent NDC.  People like Woyongo want to plunge the nation into chaos and later run away to enjoy their booty.  They know from the way they have mismanaged the affairs of the country the outcome of election 2016 is certain.  Throughout history, freedom and fear, justice and cruelty, have always been at war and we all know, that God is not neutral as far these things are concerned.  NPP should meet violence with patient justice, and be assured of the rightness of our cause as a country and confidence of the victory to come.  I suspend the smoking of cigar for now.
